Larry J. James, Principal

Principal Larry JamesDear Woodrow Wilson High School Stakeholders:

As I begin my first year as Principal of Woodrow Wilson High School, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our students. I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia and I come with invaluable experiences in urban school districts across the nation. In my experience as an educator in urban school districts in Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, and Houston I have learned that great students are the product of great leaders who inspire, lead by example, and work with all stakeholders to fulfill the vision of where a school and community should be. My belief is that through empowering all stakeholders with the ability to evoke change—no matter how small or big—then communities and schools will suit the needs of their neighbors and students. Schools are the vehicle for community transformation!

Collaboratively, we will accomplish achievement and transformation by setting high academic and behavioral expectations for all students and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. I look forward to the upcoming school year in which there will be a focus on racial equity, literacy, emotional intelligence, and college/career preparation. I embrace the challenges of the future while we continue to cherish and celebrate the traditions of the past. I am looking forward to working with all stakeholders to yield positive student outcomes and transform community and civic engagement in east Camden.

Yours in Education,

Mr. Larry J. James M.S. GC, EDL
